BevMax opened on Cedar Street, Stamford, Connecticut in 1995 with a single conviction: that the finest wines, spirits, and beers in the world deserved a retail home that matched their quality — and that every customer deserved honest prices and personal service.

Three decades and thousands of loyal customers later, our operating philosophy has never changed. In 2024, we added a curated portfolio of hand-rolled premium cigars, in partnership with master blender Rolando Villami of the Cibao Valley, DR, and the John Starks #3 Signature Series.

1995

BevMax opens on Cedar Street, Stamford. Connecticut’s first wine and liquor superstore — biggest selection, best prices, family service.

2000s – 2010s

Franchise expansion. Award-winning merchandising. One of the country’s largest independent wine and spirits retailers. The yellow oval became a Fairfield County institution.
